At Encinal Junior and Senior High School, teacher leaders and department heads are engaging in their own inquiries in order to improve student learning through academic discourse.

We partnered with the Willard Middle School teachers and leaders to support their improvement and equity goals for their 560 students. In addition, our 28 BUSD cross-site teacher scholars reached over 3900 students in early childhood through 12th grade. The Berkeley Unified Music Department and Berkeley Unified Early Childhood Groups used inquiry to better understand how to meet the needs of their students and adult learners district-wide.

Our OUSD partner sites had a combined reach of more than 30,000 students in grades TK-12. We supported the principals in Network 2 to engage in collaborative inquiry to build the conditions for adult learning at their sites. Through teacher-led collaborative inquiry, the more than 350 teacher scholars and leaders at Life Academy of Health and Bioscience, Lincoln Elementary, Rudsdale High School,and the cross-district Newcomers Group, Computer Science Group, Social Emotional Learning Group, and Expanded Learning built powerful collaborative communities that create positive change in both teacher and student learning.

Neighboring schools Colonial Acres Elementary and Lorenzo Manor Elementary serve 1,200 students in grades TK-5. The 65 teacher scholars across these two sites deepened their understanding of how to maximize learning for their predominantly English Language Learner population.

The teacher scholars at Montalvin Manor Elementary engaged in teacher-led collaborative inquiry to continue to drive their improvement. Additionally the secondary principals in WCCUSD engaged in collaborative inquiry to build their adult learning cultures in service of student learning.

Teacher scholars in our cross-district groups benefited from the unique opportunity to learn deeply with colleagues from schools across their districts. Each group shared a focus - whether a content area, demographic group, or pedagogical lens - that drove shared understanding of how to positively impact student learning.
