February 10, 2026 – Data Practices that Uncover Student Learning: Centering Student Voice to Challenge Assumptions

Workshop Description:
In schools, the most powerful data often lives closest to students—in their voices, experiences, and the stories they share that challenge our assumptions. Every piece of data tells a story about a whole child, including their academic progress, social-emotional well-being, physical health, and the barriers they face. This interactive workshop will equip you and your team with practical strategies to use data as a powerful tool in professional learning and collaboration to improve student outcomes and experience.
Learning Outcomes:
- Focal Student Learning Partnership Conversations: Learn how to systematically gather street data by selecting focal students and conducting structured conversations that reveal their experiences, strengths, and needs across academic, social-emotional, and wellness domains. Practice protocols for listening deeply to students who are often misunderstood or overlooked.
- Data Digs: Engage in data analysis that uncovers patterns, challenge biases, and identify root causes to work alongside, not against data in professional learning and collaboration.
- Create a Professional Learning Plan: Integrate data practices that center student voice into your site and system to build collective trust and shared responsibility through protocols that make data conversations safe, productive, and focused on continuous improvement rather than evaluation.
What to expect:
This hands-on workshop will balance practical application with learning. You’ll engage in data analysis activities using real student scenarios, experience facilitation protocols you can immediately use with your teams, and leave with tools and templates to establish ongoing data analysis practices in your professional learning spaces that center student voice and equity, while building collective trust amongst colleagues.
Who should enroll:
This workshop is designed for educators, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, site, district, and agency leaders, and professional learning providers. This workshop will strengthen your ability to use data to ensure every student is not only well served, but a partner in their own learning. Workshop learning aligns with Community School Goals, MTSS frameworks, and Whole Child support.
