Effective leadership in Expanded Learning isn’t just about managing programs; it’s about coaching the people who work directly with students every day. Whether you’re supporting a veteran staff member through a challenge or helping a new team member develop their program and systems, your ability to coach well determines your team’s success. 

This paid workshop will equip you with the frameworks, language, and confidence to have coaching conversations that truly move your staff—and your students—forward.

In this workshop, you’ll refine coaching style, deepen your ability to support your staff, and gain confidence in facilitating the kind of conversations that lead to meaningful growth and more equitable outcomes for students.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify your coaching style and build on your existing strengths as a leader to more effectively guide your team
  • Develop strategies to navigate equity-centered conversations with skill, including recognizing and addressing common “equity traps” that can emerge during collaborative work
  • Learn and apply Lead by Learning’s Supportive Challenge framework to plan for future coaching conversations 
  • Strengthen collegial relationships through coaching moves that build trust and accountability

This is a practice-based, interactive workshop where you’ll engage with frameworks, dive into your real scenarios, and rehearse coaching strategies you can implement immediately with your team. You’ll leave with concrete tools and a clear plan for your next coaching conversation.

Who should enroll:

This workshop is designed for site coordinators, program managers, agency directors,  and other Expanded Learning leaders who are looking for actionable practices to support colleagues to deepen awareness of the equitable impact of their decisions. Whether your primary job is to coach, or you engage in informal coaching conversations with your colleagues, you will discover ways to jointly question assumptions and engage in deep examination of equity challenges.

Cost:
