February 2013 Scholars Work in Progress Presentations
On February 12th, 27 teachers shared their work-in-progress on their Mills Teacher Scholars inquiry projects. The teacher scholars have been collecting real time classroom data on their area of inquiry for several months and the work-in-progress event was an opportunity for teachers to take stock in what they have learned about their focal students’ learning, where they need help from colleagues, and articulate their next steps. Supporting teachers to “go public” with what they know and what they don’t know is a hallmark of the Mills Teacher Scholars program. One of the most valuable aspects of the work-in-progress meeting is that teachers get feedback from their colleagues and are able to use that feedback as they think about their next steps.
