However, moving from theory to practice can be sticky. What is the secret sauce to success? How are school and district leaders implementing distributive leadership structures that are transformational, not transactional?

This past year, Lead by Learning has been conducting research on distributive leadership to understand how systems can increase belonging, leadership, and competency across teammates at different levels within a system.

Join Lead by Learning and teacher and school leaders from across the Bay Area share about how they are strengthening their distributive leadership model. This webinar will explore Lead by Learning’s signature Design Team practice and its vital role in creating the conditions for collective decision-making, equity of voice, deconstruction of historic silos, and a culture of reciprocity.

Meet our Panelists:

 

 

  • Nakisha Harris (left) is the Culture & Climate Specialist at Dublin High. She supports students and families, teachers, and staff in resolving conflict using restorative practices. Previously, Nakisha taught Criminal Justice. When she’s not helping heal the school community, Nakisha coaches flag football and softball.
  • Carol Lewis (middle) is the district coordinator of Expanded Learning for Vallejo City Unified School District. An educator for 27 years, Carol has led the Expanded Learning team since 2012. She values a growth mindset and is committed to authentic collaboration with her staff.
  • John Tran-Mortel (right) is one of the two Assistant Principals at De Anza High School. He used to be a Special Education Teacher and Department Chair at De Anza High School before his promotion as a school leader at the beginning of this school year. John is a passionate, process-oriented, and goal-driven leader who believes in the empowerment of every student through social justice and inclusive and transformative education.
