Our Name. Our Mission. Our Future.

Like the educator leaders we serve and our communities at large, we’re growing and changing. Our name change is a direct reflection of that evolution. What does  our name change mean to you and the many schools, districts, leadership teams and other learning organizations we serve and support?

 First, our mission remains steadfast. We are here to put learning at the heart of teaching and leading, so educators can continuously deliver on the promise of a quality education for all students. By partnering with a widening community of educators and serving as trusted advisors, we help educators design and create vibrant teacher-led learning cultures so they evolve as learners who lead systemic improvement and most importantly give all students opportunities to learn, grow and thrive.

Our approach recognizes that teachers are  leaders of learning and leaders themselves. Principals and district teams can achieve even more when they work as leaders with a learning mindset. And when teachers are respected and supported as scholars, learners and agents of real change, the result is innovation and improvement. Our new name, Lead by Learning, expresses that core of our work.

Equity

Our education system is one of many systems and institutions originally designed to perpetuate inequities. At Lead by Learning, we see the power of honest professional learning conversations to interrupt and most importantly, change inequitable practices.

When we create an environment for brave, bold professional growth, we create a culture of learning. Grounded in empathy, courage, and shared responsibility, we can better look within ourselves and help each other to see what we cannot see on our own. By changing the way educators learn together, we can more deeply understand how to serve our most marginalized learners, all with the goal of making lasting, substantive improvements for students and the educators who serve and support them.


Inquiry 
Our work as mentors, coaches, program designers and facilitators leverages inquiry as a launching pad. We encourage and celebrate educators who grow their ability to ask questions and nurture curiosity about their learners and use data in all forms to uncover and then address learners’ experiences, needs and potential.

 

Students at the Center 
Through defined practices of public learning, using data to make learners’ experience visible, and a platform for teachers’ voices, learning continually about how students learn drives improvement.
